Savvy Life Tip to all my dear friends and colleagues...Celebrate the gift of life every day!

A tribute to my Dad, my Mentor, my Hero.

In the past weeks my dear Dad passed away unexpectedly. My Dad was my passive rock who was always there for a chat, to offer advice (whether I needed it or not!) and always there for me in the background - wherever, whenever and whatever I was doing, from supporting my sporting adventures to whatever I chose to do in Corporate and Small business.

He was also there with advice when children arrived, always ensuring we followed the “Lumley” value set with high integrity and absolute selflessness. Same for my sister, Michelle and her family, and my stepsisters’ Jane, Jennifer and their families.

My rock was also my hero, leading by example and telling you in no uncertain terms if you veered from our value set path! My hero was awarded an OAM in 2017 for an amazing life of business, service and volunteering, even into his 80’s!

He was the family glue with his “wing-woman” Robin, who for over 33 years blended 2 families together to create an amazing, yet unique family unit.

My arms are heavy, my heart is heavy, my mind and motivation have been scrambled, yet there is that ever supporting voice over my shoulder saying, “Mate, miss me, but get on with it, continue to do what you love to do, helping others to succeed, it’s now your job to be the glue for our extended family but as importantly continue to hand our value set down through your boys to your grandsons….Now go enjoy a good Red Wine and lookout for the Hawthorn Hawks in 2020.”

Challenge accepted Dad….and it restarts from now!

RIP my (our) dear Dad, Barry Lumley, OAM, My (our) Mentor, My (our) Hero
